Animus Solutions will return as a bronze sponsor to the IAITAM Conference, to be held on San Marco Island in Florida.  I am speaking on Wednesday this year and I am happy to say that Phara McLachlan has also been asked to speak this year.  I was asked to speak on best practices in Communication and Education, a major topic of the Best Practice Library that IAITAM has developed.  I am happy to do so, I recently wrote an article in ITAK on the same subject with my colleague Barbara Rigney conducting the research and outlining the communication fundamentals for the article.  Maybe she will help with the presentation too!  I want to make sure that I discuss the importance of communicating with IT employees about how service management (ITIL) and IT asset processes are linked since service management is difficult to do successfully without proper asset information.

Phara is going to speak on Policy Management, another BPL major category.  WIth policies driving what we are allowed to do, it will be interesting to hear some of Phara’s experiences with policy development during her  long career as an ITAM consultant. 

Both of these topics are business activities that help ITAMers get their next project funded, increase commitment to process and clear up confusion that can prevent people from willingly using correct channels to obtain the resources they need to do their jobs.  Discussion during and afterwards should be interesting!
